FAST Final Plenary Meeting was held in the nice place of the Katholieke Universiteit ion leuven, Belgium on 18th-19th November 2010. Thanks to Sabine Van Huffel and Diana Sima for having hosted us, it has been a very successful event.
An overview of the four year of the network, objectives, recruitment, main achievements, milestones and perspectives of the project, was presented by Danielle Graveron-Demilly, coordinator of the network on Thursday 18th of November. Each workpackage leader gave a presentation outlining the progress done on the tasks within that particular workpackage.
Thursday afternoon and Friday morning were devoted to scientific presentations from fellows. Among 16 lecturers, 10 FAST recruited ESRs and 3 ERs were involved in the scientific sessions. This gave the opportunity to young researchers, to present and discuss their scientific results.
Then a round table has been arranged in order to encourage each FAST fellow to express his/her feeling about FAST project (research, trainings, collaborations, etc.) and his/her future.
Finally, a business meeting ended the meeting.
The meeting was also very successful from the social point of view. The fellows as well as all FAST members were happy to see each other again. All the participants were hosted in hotels close to the meeting place, which facilitated interactions and informal discussions from breakfast to dinner. And, as several meetings have already been organized during the 4 first years of the network, all partners were happy to meet again and the exchange between people was straightforward and warm.
