FAST mid-term review meeting was held in Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland on 21-23 January 2009 in the presence of Marinos Ioannides and Victor Estrada, representatives of the European Commission. Thanks to Rolf Gruetter for having hosted us, it has been a very successful event.

An overview of the two first years of the network, main achievements, milestones and perspectives of the project, was presented by Danielle Graveron-Demilly, coordinator of the network on Thursday 22d of January. Each workpackage leader gave a presentation outlining the progress to date on the tasks within that particular workpackage. Then each recruited Marie Curie fellow gave a short presentation about his/her scientific background/expertise and past activities, responsibilities within FAST network, major results, prospects for the remaining time, and training and transfer of knowledge received in the context of the network.
Wednesday afternoon 21st and Friday morning 23rd were devoted to scientific presentations. Among others, FAST recruited ESRs/ERs were involved in those scientific days. This gave the opportunity to all partners, specifically young researchers, to present and discuss their scientific results.

Finally, a business meeting to discuss main important management points ended that very fruitful 3 days event: Mid-Term meeting agenda and minutes.
